Description
Perched on Pabean Beach in Ketewel, Villa Maya is a double-story villa mixing contemporary design with traditional Javanese architecture from the Majapahit Empire era. Occupying 1,800 m2 with views of the adjacent island, this four-bedroom tropical villa also showcases a traditional joglo, a relaxation pavilion, 2 swimming pools, an expansive lawn, a Hindu temple, and private access to the beach. Indoor living spaces are nostalgic chic mixing hardwood timber panels with tasteful furnishings. Carefully curated art pieces feature on walls and table-tops. For your culinary experience, two in-house chefs and three butlers are ready to arrange your breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner. Tucked in the quieter part of South Bali, iconic Sanur and Ubud with all restaurants and shopping hubs are only 10 and 20 minutes car ride away respectively. Of course, a driver is always on stand-by to take you wherever you choose to go.
Bedrooms
Featuring four bedrooms with an en-suite spread over two levels, each bedroom in the main villa employs a thatched roofing system overseeing the king-size bed with a teakwood flooring panel below. The master suite on the upper floor has a large balcony with an ocean view. The open-plan bathroom is opulent and equipped with a sunken jacuzzi, resort-style amenities as well as ample natural light. The two guestrooms on the ground floor open directly to the lush garden courtyard. All bedrooms have air conditioning, ceiling fans, and satellite TV. The fourth bedroom is part of the traditional joglo located in the garden courtyard. Purposely designed on the downward slide of the roofing structure, this exotic bedroom instantly exudes unrivaled intimacy with its lower roof and sultry surrounding, making it the idyllic honeymoon suite.
Outdoor areas
Villa Maya comes with an expansive lawn area directly accessible from the lounge room and guest bedrooms. An outdoor pool is the centerpiece with one end of the pool extended right into the lounge room. Surrounding the garden walls is a plethora of greenery of every foliage and texture. The garden area at Villa Maya takes up the whole beachfront with an extensive lawn area, a traditional joglo with its own private pool, an opulent relaxation pavilion few steps from the ocean, a Hindu temple, and a cushy bale. Right next to the ocean, a custom-built space perfect for ceremonial ritual and only accessible by a small wooden bridge over a mini pool below makes Villa Maya the perfect wedding venue.
Indoor areas
The loungeroom makes use of hardwood timber panels and traditional Javanese lattice roofing with direct access from the lounge room and guest bedroom into the garden courtyard. Floor to ceiling glass walls on both sides ensures natural light aplenty streaming into the living area. A noteworthy highlight is one end of the outdoor pool protruding right into the living room. The most dramatic living room can be found in the open-plan traditional joglo on the courtyard, where a hand-crafted floor-to-ceiling four-post lounge area straight from Javanese aristocratic design from Majapahit Empire showcases as the jewel in the crown. The curtains draping down from the roof to the bedpost conjures up an image of the leisure place royalty from a distant past would laze around in. Surrounding the center lounge is an opulent space where antiquities are artfully placed. Another great living space is the relaxation pavilion few steps from the traditional joglo right next to the crashing waves. Here lies a long dining table, a cozy lounge area, and some massage tables at the back – all at full frontal against the Indian Ocean with only a floor-to-ceiling glass wall separating the elements and the snuggly interior.
