1. Uluwatu Temple or Pura Luhur Uluwatu
Perched on the tip of the steepest limestone cliffs overlooking the Indian Ocean, this 11th century Hindu temple and its surrounding ground promises astonishing panoramic view of natural beauty only Bali can. Immerse yourself into the magical sunset whilst enjoying traditional Tari Kecak dance is a truly unique Balinese experience. The tropical sanctuary where the pura is located is also home to roaming wild monkeys who are always on the look-out to score some free snacks from tourists.
2. Ubud
Ubud, also known as the spiritual heart center of Bali, is renowned for its concentration of arts & culture, temples, palaces, breathtaking ricefields, rivers, mind & body institutions and unrivalled natural beauty. 4. Mount Batur, Kintamani
Bali is known as the island of volcanoes and Mount Batur in Kintamani is one of the most visited on the northeastern part of Bali. Enjoying lunch at one of the outdoor restaurants on the foothills whilst admiring expansive landscape next to lake Batur is truly an unforgettable experience. Better still, if you are an adventurer at heart, then hiking up Mount Batur for sunrise is a “not-to-be-missed” adventure. At just over 1,700m, this volcano can be conquered in just under 90minutes for those with low to moderate fitness levels. And the view from the top at sunrise is more than worth your trouble, pounding heart rate & sweat, it’s just exquisite!
5. Bali Beaches
Beyond the well-known Kuta and Sanur beaches, Bali has countless “lesser-known-but-so-much-better” beaches all along its coastline. Whether you love surfing or a quiet beach where you can have the place all to yourself, Bali has it all. Beaches on the southend of the island such as in Nusa Dua up to Uluwatu has some of the most pristine white sand and tranquil settings. Surfers flock beaches along Canggu and its adjacent neighborhood. Think about doing a day of beach-hopping and don’t be surprised if you stumble upon a beach that’s not even listed on your Google map.
