Description
A sanctuary in the hills of Ubud, Amala Villas Ubud is an intimate resort that prides itself on being a home away from home. Situated on 3,000 square metres of land above the villages of Sebali and Keliki, it overlooks the river Wos on the edge of a ridge surrounded by paddy fields. Combining traditional Balinese architecture with the simplicity and clean lines of modern design, Amala Villas Ubud comprises three houses connected by a walkway. It accommodates up to 14 adults comfortably and has adequate common areas to ensure sufficient privacy—ideal for family friends or up to seven couples.
Bedrooms
Bodhi, the master bedroom on the second floor leads out to a spacious balcony with daybeds on either end, and a verandah that overlooks the pool and paddy fields. Its luxuriously spacious bathroom contains a bathtub with a shower and an outdoor shower on the terrace. Below this are two guest rooms, Wani and Arbesia, connected by a single verandah overlooking the tranquil River Wos; both are en suite with showers and baths. On the ground level is Jarak, a second master bedroom with an indoor bath and shower overlooking the lush tropical valley as well as an outdoor shower in its own private garden. On the second floor of the North House boasts a luxuriously fitted third master bedroom, Kendal, with a balcony that overlooks the River Wos and offers calming views of the valley and of the paddy fields towards the north. Its en suite bathroom is a little smaller compared to the other bathrooms but has the best facilities.
Outdoor areas
Guests can stroll around the garden, have breakfast with the sun rising over the valley or take in the beauty of the rice terraces from a bale that sits at the edge of the garden.
Indoor areas
With beautiful views of quaint paddy fields, the Main House has an open living area with a large daybed overlooking a 20-metre pool, as well as a kitchen, library, and powder room. The Valley House has an open billiards area on the top floor with an immense alang-alang roof and wide verandahs for al fresco dining. There is a media room with a large television to screen movies or satellite programming and a karaoke system for those who like to sing. This room can also be converted into another en suite guest room and shares a verandah with Jarak. Newly constructed in the last quarter of 2017, the North House has an open dining pavilion, which can be closed up for a more private setting, and a floating deck that overlooks the lush valley.

Superb villa very close to Ubud. It is well located with rice fields on one side and the jungle on the other. It is composed of 6 real bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. The common areas are large and well laid out, including a pool table and a karaoke room. We were 13 in the house, and the house lives well on a daily basis. The team in charge of the house is really nice, very professional and attentive to all your requests. They knew how to concoct very good dishes for us! A shuttle is at your disposal and really practical. Made will take you to visit all the corners of the surroundings. There is also a swimming pool, very appreciable after walking all morning in the humidity of the Monkey Forest or after returning from your getaway on Mount Batur!

Beautiful tranquil 5 bedroom villas set in the middle of the rice terraces. Friendly staff with excellent food. Place for rest, meditation, recharge the body. Highly recommended.

Stylish villa, great hospitality
Our family has holidayed at Amala Villas for several years now and it has never disappointed. It’s setting in the middle of the padi fields is a big draw, but mainly the staff are really great. They are so friendly and kind, everytime we come here we feel like we are coming home. Food is great, especially the classic Indonesian dishes.
The addition of a new wing is interesting, it has been seamlessly incorporated into the rest of the existing building.
The place is great if you have a big group or family it’s large enough that each person can have their own privacy but also if you need to retreat you can go into your own space. Most importantly it’s very clean and well-appointed.
We always feel we never want to leave when it’s time to say farewell to the staff here, and we look forward to returning.
