If you and your friends have an adventurous spirit or if you are an active family who enjoys the great outdoors, then Bali has more to offer than you could ever imagine. We have enlisted these four tours in Bali that promise a tonne of fun!
1. Bicycle Tour Through Rice Fields
Hands down the best way to experience rural Bali is on a bicycle. Imagine cycling at a relaxed pace through the narrow winding roads that run through Bali’s famous rice fields, while making regular pit stops to capture the moment. Afterwards, visit a traditional Balinese village where the locals will welcome you into their homes for a good old yarn. Have lunch afterwards at a Warung while taking in a spectacular view. Along the way you’ll be able to visit local artisans and have a first-hand look at their arts and crafts. Then continue on your journey to uncover more hidden treasures that a traditional village life has to offer. How do you like the sound of that?!
2. White Water Rafting
For the ultimate bonding experience with elements of watery fun, adrenaline and raw wilderness, white water rafting is hard to beat! Two rivers, one in Karang Asem and the other in Ubud, facilitate this floating down the river activity. The session usually kicks off with safety instructions provided in English by your guide before each passenger is fitted with a hard hat, float jacket and an oar. A group of four with a guide then fit into a rubber boat and begin the downstream shenanigans. Paddle, duck, lean forward/back, jump to your left/right and cackles will make up most of the conversation during this part. As the river runs through a gorge, the natural beauty here is on another level. You will probably make a pit stop at a waterfall midway. Then end the journey by going down a vertical drop guaranteed to send your heart racing. One of the must-do Bali adventures!
3. Mount Batur Sunrise Trek
This unique adventure is fast-becoming one of the most loved activities to do in Bali and with great reasons! At just over 1,700m, a hike up Mount Batur is doable by most people of all fitness levels and offers the most spectacular sunrise anywhere in Bali. The area at the top around the caldera is surprisingly spacious and provides a few vantage points for revellers to enjoy the view. Don’t miss the experience to boil an egg from the naturally occurring hot spring. Yes, you must appoint a guide for the trekking. Why view a volcano from ground zero when you can scale, conquer and take it all in from the summit!
4. ATV Riding
ATV stands for All Terrain Vehicle and offers a heightened off-road adventure like no other! This four-wheeler feels like a monster motorbike with a straddling seat, which will bring out the kid in all of us. Be ready to tackle all types of terrains on the road ahead. Ride through lush rice paddies or along white-sand beaches, in Canggu, Ubud or the Kuta districts. The possibilities are endless, and so is the fun to be had! Are you ready for the big kid in you to come out and play?
